We are excited to highlight the achievements of Juan Martinez, a dedicated CSP student who has been part of our program since Spring 2024. Throughout his time with us, Juan has made tremendous strides in self-advocacy and has been passionate about finding employment.
With the support of his vocational specialist, Abigail, Juan began developing his work skills through volunteering at a local food pantry. His ability to follow directions, stock, and organize items quickly caught the attention of Abigail, and together they secured a paid work experience for Juan at O'Reilly's Auto Parts.
Working alongside a job coach, Juan swiftly adapted to his new role, taking on tasks such as stocking shelves and matching barcodes to items. His hard work has not gone unnoticed. Recently, Juan’s co-worker shared some exciting news: for the first time in a long while, the regional managers from corporate awarded a perfect 100% accuracy score for the store's shelving units and barcode tags—a feat Juan contributed to directly!
Juan’s colleague expressed deep appreciation for his dedication, praising his strong work ethic and attention to detail in maintaining an organized store. The manager also expressed gratitude for Juan’s efforts, noting that the store had not received such a perfect score in quite some time.
Juan’s story is a true testament to the power of hard work and determination, and we are proud of the progress he has made on his path to employment!
